How to make a good CV

How to make a good CV
I gathered below a few tips on how your Curriculum Vitae should look like in order to increase the chances for you to get a job.

Tip #1: Be creative
Employers may receive a huge quantity of CV when they post a job ad. Statistics say HR spend an average of 45 seconds before deciding if you are interesting or not for the position, so it is extremely important for you to make your CV stand out of the rest.

Tip #2: Include the right information
Your Curriculum Vitae should be divided into different categories: basic information, work experience, education, skills and languages and interests.

Basic information: this includes your name, address, phone number and email address and most often a picture. It may be good sometimes to include the date of birth, driving licence and marital status.

Work experience: try to include at least 3 different work experiences, stating where you worked at, the job title and the dates. Then for each position, add what was your responsibility within the company and your achievements.

Education: the most important is the highest diploma you got. It is not so important to specify that you did the primary school if you have a Master in some fields.

Skills and Languages: list the skills and languages that you are good at and also some that you are less good at. Divide them into categories such as Excellent, Good and School Knowledge.

Interests: list a few of your interests here, but do not expend it too much. The fact that you are fan of watching movies is not so relevant to get a job, except if you are applying to a movie production for example.

Tip #3: Be content-specific

If you are applying for e.g. a HR and Administration position, try to mention the maximum experience and information you have in the field. The fact that you have 3 years experience in HR only is not as important as the 6 months experience you had as an Admin or IR Only.

This information should be a good start and do not forget that more information is coming soon, so stay tuned with my blogs!
